Graduating in 2022, Tiara S. Coleman (she/her) is the first in her family to obtain a bachelor’s degree. In 2020, she interned remotely and now works as a software engineer at Kiva, a not-for-profit focused on financial inclusivity through microfinancing. Over the course of five years, she contributed to both business-to-business and business-to-customers initiatives. This work includes developing a platform for connecting government identity systems with financial services and payments infrastructure (Kiva Protocol) and individualized campaign pages for Kiva’s partnerships.
Advice to Students:
Dedicate your initial 10 years post-grad, discovering who you fundamentally want to be and how you want the rest of your life as an adult to be. After you graduate, there will be a lot of deconstructing and constructing who you are, and it’s important to give yourself as much time and grace as needed.
