Seth Bynum (he/him) is the Senior Advisor for Housing Policy and Development for the Deputy Mayor for Housing, Economic Development, and Workforce of New York City. As a senior advisor, Seth liaises with all New York City housing finance agencies to monitor and develop strategies to build and preserve affordable housing in New York City. Before that, Seth worked at Genesis Companies, a black-owned affordable housing development company that builds, acquires, and rehabs affordable housing in New York City and New Jersey. Before entering the private sector, Seth worked at the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, working with affordable housing developers to refinance and preserve their housing. Shortly after graduating from college, Seth was selected as a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs at the Coro New York Leadership Center, where he completed a nine-month experiential leadership development training program for future changemakers. Seth earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Urban Studies from Vassar.
