Advice to Students:
Adopt a growth mindset and avoid thinking of yourself as a writing person or a numbers person. Even if you have natural talents in a certain area, life is long, and you are fully capable of developing a diverse range of skills. As well, recognize that you might have interests that are best pursued outside of your immediate job. Nevertheless, take those interests seriously—whether as hobbies or as side-projects—both for their inherent joys but also to retain your sense of self.
