Benedicte Bayi-Mathijsen (she/her) is Senior Director Data Privacy & Compliance Counsel at Christian Dior. Benedicte enjoys novelty and collaborating with teams across organizations to adapt to new requirements. Her desire to work internationally has included several moves across the Atlantic with projects spanning Asia, Europe, and Latin America. After practicing in law firms in New York and Paris, she joined in-house legal teams in different industries: hospitality (CWT business travel), consumer goods (Harmless Harvest), tech (PayPal, Twitter, Facebook), and now luxury retail (Dior). After a general corporate and commercial practice, she now specializes in data privacy & compliance with ever-evolving laws. Recent focus areas: (a) training teams about their responsibilities in processing personal information, updating policies and guidelines to reflect business activities and (b) creating new policies and reporting in relation to new manufacturing and import requirements.
