nnennia mazagwu (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist, architect, and sound healing practitioner based in Philadelphia. Their work explores themes of home, cohabitation, and somatic repair through sculpture, sound, movement, performance, and social practice. They are deeply invested in creating expansive, atmospheric experiences that center the embodied realities of Black and queer communities. Rooted in Afrofuturism and speculative fiction, nnennia’s practice asks how spaces—from gardens to galleries—can be ritualized for collective restoration. They are currently a maker in the NextFab community and part of the 2024 Artisan Accelerator cohort, skills they directly apply to fabricating sculptural environments and somatic furniture. Their work has been exhibited at The Franklin Institute and the 2024 DesignPhiladelphia Festival.
