Shuba Visweswaran (she/her) is Director of Advocacy and Communications at Menoglobal, the only international organization dedicated to making menopause a global health priority. At Menoglobal, she leads global advocacy and communications to make menopause visible in health systems, build political will, and drive policy change. After beginning her career in healthcare advertising at VML in New York, she moved to India to lead brand strategy at Landor/WPP, and worked with clients including Nestlé, Vodafone, WeWork, and Dell. She then focused her expertise on women’s health as Head of Brand Marketing at Proactive For Her, India’s largest sexual and reproductive healthcare startup, where she led communications on cervical cancer, HPV vaccination, STIs, endometriosis, and PCOS—empowering women to take control of their sexual and reproductive health. Throughout her career, she has focused on breaking taboos around women’s health, understanding that stigma itself is a public health barrier. She lived in India for over a decade, bringing cross-cultural expertise to her advocacy work. She is a certified health coach and former founder of Femology, a community for women in midlife.
Advice to Students:
Ironically, the best career advice I have is—never stop being a student. Even when you’re eager to prove yourself at work, the real skill is learning from everyone and everything around you. Say yes to opportunities that weren’t in your plan—sometimes the detours end up mattering most. Network even when you don’t feel like it, but reframe it: you’re learning from people, not just “networking.”
*Menoglobal is a completely remote and global organization with the leadership team members in Croatia, US, and Mexico.*
