Mr. Peter Breuer (he/him) is the Division Chief in the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund and Mission Chief for Thailand. Previously, as Mission Chief for Sri Lanka, he led the design and implementation of the IMF-supported program and was closely involved in the related sovereign debt restructuring. In previous roles, Peter led teams on cross-cutting projects relating to sovereign debt restructuring and financial stability. Peter headed the IMF’s office in Ireland as Resident Representative during the EU-IMF program from 2011 to 2014. Peter holds a PhD and MA in economics from Brown University, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Vassar.
